We are entering the dark time of the year. Yet, it is as much a time for renewal as rest.
This plant, with a couple of lingering flowers and many pods, is a well-timed reminder. The plant stores energy for renewal in the pods while preparing for a long rest.
"Hoof and horn, hoof and horn.
All that dies shall be reborn."
As witches and Pagans, we look to Nature for lessons of the spiral. Every year the same and always different. What is the preparation you are making for yourself? What rest and renewal are essential to you today? Relationships? Your health? Family and community matters?

All that falls shall rise again."
Taking time for yourself so that you have time for others is often overlooked. Many things compete for our time and attention in the modern world. We take on many tasks and obligations, as has always been our way.
My first year of training as a priest of Eris was to rely on and renew myself. She made it clear that strength comes from within and following the natural world around us. Accessing the divine comes later.
Take the time to honor and plan for yourself.
Finally, yesterday I was able to share in the ultimate act of human renewal. I welcomed my friend's new little light into the community.
